What are the ends of end of life?
We are professional non-medical companions who provide physical, emotional, spiritual and practical support to people in life transitions at any stage of their life, especially around death. We support accepting and navigating the process of grief and dying in a dignified and conscious manner, empowering both people and their support circles to navigate change, loss and death with peace and autonomy.
He supports and participates in this transformative initiative that seeks to improve the quality of life and death in Puerto Rico, creating a more prepared, conscious and resilient community against our losses, our duels and at the end of life.
Key objectives
Raise awareness
Promote open understanding about death, duel and life transitions, overcoming cultural taboo and educating about the importance of talking about these issues from all stages of life.
Educate
Provide practical tools and knowledge about the integral management of loss and preparation for the end of life.
Support
Promote compassionate accompaniment and community care in grief and at the end of life, inspiring more people to get involved in this practice.
Cocrear
Generate spaces for the community to develop new narratives and languages around death, duel and life, promoting a cultural evolution in Puerto Rico and promoting care and collaboration networks.
About the project
The project facilitates diverse activities in different villages of the island. Among the activities are informative sessions, interactive workshops, community support circles, cineforos, conversations in public squares, performance in galleries, talks to professional groups, training, among others. The events and activities of awareness of death are free, but some as some have a limited quota, it is necessary that you reserve your space by filling the registration format Below, available soon for events in November 2025.

The Movement of Consciousness of Death in Puerto Rico is a community initiative promoted by a meeting of wills of organizations and people putting their capacities and resources at the service of revolutionizing the culture of death and duel on the island.




















Meet the team
End-of-life companions and doulas with complementary strengths and skills, Wilka Roig, Janice C. Karana, Limari Colón, Mariangelly Sierra and Lilliam Irizarry Echevarría are managers of the death awareness movement in Puerto Rico.

Wolf Roig, MA, MFA
Transpersonal psychologist, photographer and performance artist, activist and death doula, and counselor of Duel, dedicated to the evolution of our culture of loss, duel and death. Passionate activist in the movement of death awareness, facilitates cross -border support for Spanish -speaking citizens and immigrants and directs focal groups with pioneers in North, Central and South America to develop and establish solutions.
Founder and president of the Elisabeth Kübless (EKR) Mexico Center and the First Latin American Training Program of Life, Death and Transition, through its training space for the integration of death (effhim). Co -founder of the Latin American Accompaniment Network in Death and Duel, Deputy Director of Education of the EKR Global Foundation, Educator of End of Life, International Advisor and Coordinator of the Certification Program of the International Association of End of Life Doula Inner Immersion curriculum developer.
Janice C Karana, DMN
Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Doula de End of Life, Teacher of Hatha Yoga and founder of the Moriviví Center, a project dedicated to the integral and holistic accompaniment of people with chronic health conditions and terminal diagnosis, as well as their families in logistics preparations and grief management. His approach fuses natural medicine with palliative care, providing physical, psycho -emotional support through natural therapies such as homeopathy, acupuncture, aromatherapy, music therapy, hydrotherapy, botany and nutrition. It seeks to relieve pain, anxiety and side effects of medicines, promoting a transition to the most dignified and humanized death. It offers face -to -line and online consultations, integrating relaxation techniques, guided meditations, breathing techniques, forest baths and yoga classes centered on trauma.
Throughout his career, he has worked as an educator, consultant and therapist in the management of the duel due to death or loss of pregnancy, supporting families in both Puerto Rico and the United States. In addition to its clinical approach, it facilitates retreats, talks, workshops and monthly circles, where it creates safe spaces to explore and deepen the issues of death and duel, provided practical tools to navigate these processes in a healthy, compassionate and harmonious way.


Limari Colon
Highly sensitive person (HSP), reikist and facilitator of horse-assisted grief workshops. Its multidisciplinary approach combines emotional well-being, connection with animals and subtle energy to offer unique spaces for transformation and accompaniment. Through her work, she promotes balance between mind, body and spirit, guiding people to navigate death and grieving processes with sensitivity and compassion.
Certified as an End-of-Life Doula by the University of Vermont and INELDA (International End-of-Life Doula Association, USA), Horse-Facilitated Grief Guide by Heart Whispers (Canada) and Equine Therapist by the Carrusel Foundation (Puerto Rico). Trained in Nada Yoga and Yoga Nidra at the Nada Brahma Yoga Comprehensive School (Argentina) and in A Journey Into the Supreme Light Immersive at Oneness University (India), she integrates contemplative, energetic and philosophical practices that inspire her work of accompanying dying and mourning from conscious presence.
Mariangelly Sierra, PhD, LPC
Death doula, clinical mental health counselor, professor, researcher, and graduate student supervisor at a counseling school. Mother, artist, creative and nature lover.
Her academic and research interests focus on promoting multiculturalism and social justice, as well as understanding and advocating for the experiences of marginalized and minority communities. Her clinical practice focuses on offering accessible mental health services to Latinx and Queer communities, both in Puerto Rico and the United States. In the past, she has worked with migrants on the Mexico-Texas border, and with refugee families of trauma survivors from different countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Tras años de labor como consejera y educadora, respondió al llamado de la Muerte, iniciado por el fuego, la medicina ancestral y el acompañamiento en el fin de vida de dos almas cercanas. Se formó en la Asociación Internacional de Doulas de Fin de Vida (INELDA), bajo la guía de la maestra Wilka Roig. Actualmente, se desempeña como voluntaria profesional en el Programa de Voluntarios de Hospicio & Home Care San Lucas, colabora con Boricua Barefoot Doctors y es miembra del movimiento Consciencia de la Muerte, así como de la Red Latinoamericana de Acompañamiento en la Muerte y el Duelo.
