Reimagining Death

How does death challenge us to evolve as individuals?

Within a globalized cultural context, the concept of death in combination with socialized death avoidance and death denial results in unfounded fear of death and death anxiety, and compulsive resistance to uncertainty and the unfamiliar. This contemporary cultural phenomenon disconnects us from our essential nature, our humanity, the natural environment, and cultural cosmovisions and traditions that have sustained our living and dying since the dawn of time.

In this course we set out on an imaginal journey through the ancestral wisdom of ancient cultures, and a mythical and intuitive exploration of our essential truths. Through lectures, readings, exercises, contemplations, practices and discussions, we transform the contemporary perception of and relationship with dying, death, and grieving, and strengthen our capacity for present, intentional compassionate accompaniment.
