The Death Awareness Tour 2025 is a community project that seeks to transform the relationship we have with death in Puerto Rico. Through workshops, discussions and educational activities, we want to create safe spaces to talk about death, grief and life transitions. Our goal is to contextualize death, promote community care, and empower people with tools to prepare to face it with dignity and humanity.

What are end-of-life doulas?

The end of the end of life are non -medical companions that we provide physical, emotional, spiritual and practical support to people at any stage of their life, especially in the near times at the end. We help plan, accept and navigate the process of dying in a dignified and conscious way, empowering both people and their families to face death with peace and autonomy.

Raise awareness

Promote open understanding about death, duel and life transitions, overcoming cultural taboo and educating about the importance of talking about these issues from all stages of life.

Educate

Provide practical tools and knowledge about the integral management of loss and preparation for the end of life.

Support

Promote compassionate accompaniment and community care at the end of life, inspiring more people to get involved in this practice.

Cocrear

Generate spaces for the community to develop new narratives and languages ​​around death, duel and life, promoting a cultural evolution in Puerto Rico and promoting care and collaboration networks.

A sensory immersion in leaving the body, The Last Ecstatic Days (The Last Ecstatic Days) reveals a man who won't let us forget him – even after he has taken his last breath.

Ethan Sisser, a young man with brain cancer, sits alone in his hospital room. When he begins to broadcast his death trip on social networks, thousands of people from all over the world join him and celebrate his courage. Even so, Ethan imagines more: teach the world how to die without fear. To honor his last desire to film his death, they transport him to a quiet house in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. What follows is a story that has never been told: how a group of strangers becomes a family for a man who does not want to die alone.

In community we expand this important work around duel and care at the end of life in Latin America and for Latin Americans worldwide, with a particular approach in Puerto Rico, cultivating a network of integration and support for people who are called to the service of others in life transition processes, and for those who go through these processes.

The tour is a community initiative promoted by a meeting of wills of organizations and people putting their capacities and resources at the service of revolutionizing the culture of death and duel on the island.
